Sam with the shuttle service did an awesome job! He was a safe driver, and very polite. So, the free shuttle service was absolutely awesome and the customer service for my vehicle maintenance was excellent. Five star experience.

My wife & I have bought two new to us vehicles here, a 2021 Crosstrek and a 2017 Forester. Both times we have worked with Zach N in sales and he made the buying experience painless and enjoyable each time. When we arrived in August of 2024 we had never bought from a dealership before, he did very well with hearing our needs and showed a few Cars and we decided that the 21' Crosstrek fit our needs! He was knowledgeable, honest, never pushy, very helpful, and did well to make the first time buying experience enjoyable! In April of 2025 it was time to replace another old vehicle, we sought him out again as he was very good to us the first time, we ended up again looking at a few cars and decided on the 17' Forester! Very similar experience to the time before and we had another great experience working with him! Highly recommend buying from here as Zach and the rest of the staff are very friendly and helpful.

This shop has had issues in the past, but over the past few years, they have taken responsibility for their mistakes and really committed to improving their service. Given these changes, I would be open to working with them in the future, in spite of frustrating experiences I have had in the past. In May of 23, I came to GS with an issue. When I received a diagnosis, the issue was related to my tie rod end and lower ball joint. These parts had been replaced within the last 3,000 miles, so I was hoping to have clarification regarding the exact cause, given the repairs were estimated to cost $1500. When I spoke to the tech, I was unable to get a word in and left that interaction feeling as though I couldn't trust their diagnosis. I also felt the cost of the diagnosis was not in line with the service that I received, particularly from the tech. Not knowing whether the diagnosis was correct, but feeling uncomfortable with that interaction, I chose to work with other shops and mechanics. After other attempts to repair it over nearly 2 years and 15,000 miles, the issue was finally solved, replacing the bushings in my lower control arm, and my fear that GS had initially misdiagnosed my vehicle was confirmed. I felt as though I should share my experiences. When I did so, I was very impressed by the level of follow up they provided. They reached out very quickly following my review to understand the full context of my frustration, and they let me know a few things. Firstly, the tech I had worked with has not been with GS for some time now. Secondly, if I did agree to have the work done and it wasn't solved, they would have refunded the cost of the repair. Thirdly, they immediately offered to refund the cost of the diagnostic. Lastly, they took ownership for the mistakes of the past, acknowledging the frustration of my experience and the indignity of feeling taken advantage of. I was very impressed by their response, and given their level of follow-up and commitment to rectifying the situation, I would absolutely consider giving them another chance.

Long story short: Coming from a great distance because I could not find anything local to my area, I bought a used vehicle (not a Subaru) from them. Everyone I worked with was friendly and made it easy. The problem came when I was driving it home (over 250 miles) and it broke down. After some angst in getting it towed to a repair shop, found out the transmission was shot, like it hadn't had a flush its entire life. To their good name and credit, they paid for my tow. On top of that, they offered to either (1) send me the money they made on my sale to assist in paying for repairs or (2) buy back the vehicle from me. (I took the latter option and found something else.) Thank you for doing business the right way. These are great people! If I'm in the market for a vehicle in the future, provided I'm close by, I will definitely consider them.

I am not usually a reviewer person but I really feel like I should highlight the generosity and kindness the leadership at this Subaru had for me. I scheduled a service, which I incidentally had to reschedule a few times and they made it extremely easy to do so. After a misunderstanding with the cost estimate and final cost of the service, I left a bit shaken as I wasn’t financially prepared to pay the cost of my service and would’ve asked that some of the services not be done at this time, had I known prior to leaving my car. Troy and Owen both helped me out and explained the miscommunication, and actually are going to reimburse me the difference of what I had expected to pay. I feel a lot of relief as now I can more comfortably deal with my financials and I feel much better about returning for future services. They didn’t have to do that, and to say I'm grateful is an understatement. Thank you so much for the patience and generosity, Troy and Owen!! Will certainly come back again.

These people go above and beyond to make everything right. I had a complicated issue (electrical) and they worked patiently with warranty and insurance to get everything fixed. Big thanks to Ben and Jacob in the service department for going the extra mile!

I hit a deer and totaled my car last month, meaning I had to buy a new vehicle unexpectedly right around Christmas time. It was incredibly stressful! So I can't say enough good things about my experiences with Gallatin Subaru. I did everything remotely (a scary experience to spend so much money on a used vehicle without seeing it in person!), and Zach was an incredibly helpful salesperson to work with. We had recently gone through a bad experience shopping for my husbands car at a location in Billings, and the people at gallatin subaru definitely turned around our outlook in the realm of shopping for cars. Ian and I were in contact back and forth for a few weeks about a certified pre owned 2023 Subaru ascent onyx. We live In billings so it was hard to make a trip out there with work. We finally made a time work and our experience was amazing. We had our dogs with us and they allowed them to come inside. Ian was extremely friendly and helpful during our entire experience as well as all of the other staff we came in contact with. I stopped in one day to get some air in my tire that had been low. Come to find out I had a nail in my tire and it was completely flat. Dylan and his men were so kind to loan me a nicer version of my car until the next day because I had my three young children with me. The repaired my tire and washed my car when I returned the next day and didn’t have to pay a dime! Top notch customer service!

I was travelling through Bozeman in early October, visiting family, planning to depart on a Saturday morning. Friday afternoon while getting my car ready for the trip, all of the dash lights and warning bells went off when I turned on the car. This did not make any sense at all for a well maintained Forester with 57,000 miles. The owners manual suggested a problem with the transmission. I called Gallatin Subaru and was connected with Jake. Once he understood the symptoms he said that travelling to the Seattle area was not a good idea until the diagnostics could be reviewed. There was a possibility that the transmission control body was the issue, an $1,800 repair. They were unable to see me that afternoon and even more unfortunately, did not have techs working on Saturdays. Jake was very understanding; however, that I needed to get back on the road as soon as possible and said they could take a look first thing Monday morning. Most likely they would be able to get me on the road that day. They came through as promised. The issue turned out to be rodent damage to the wiring harness - a common problem in that area when temperatures start to drop. The repair was complete by mid-morning. Working with Jake from the Service department was pleasant and very easy. He was patient on Friday with my frustration over an unexpected and potentially costly repair and was able to answer all of my questions. He was at the service desk Monday morning and came through as promised on a same-day repair. While he offered additional maintenance, it was not a hard sell, and I felt comfortable that the car would make the next leg of my trip with just the wiring harness repair. I would absolutely recommend this service department. My only reason for a 4-star rating is that they could not get me in sooner. But I very much appreciate that they were able to juggle their Monday morning schedule and get me back on the road as quickly as they did. The service and repair work was top notch!

We started with John at the subaru dealership and found a car at audi volkswagen. Seriously professional, great cars, and awesome customer service. Every time I've made an appointment to have general maintenance at Gallatin Subaru, they've gone above and beyond to make sure I'm well taken care of. Dylan Weber, in the Service and Parts Department, has been a great help each time I've come in with random issues and general inquiries. He's been great at setting me up with exactly what I need and exceptional at recommending other avenues that may be necessary down the road. Everyone there is always more than obliging to my busy schedule and almost always have everything completed on my car in speedy timeframe. Their shuttle service to-and-from is also really awesome. My guy Jake Jevning is a real outstanding gentleman. He was very polite and informative when it came to helping me understand what was wrong with my 08 Outback aka Frank. Jake seems to have a way with cars almost like a car whisperer. I brought frank in one time due to it running very rough, almost like frank smoked two packs a day. Jake told me to come on down just like Bob Barker used to. Once I got down there we popped the hood on the old beast and wouldn't ya know Frank was a smoker. Jake said he was leaking so much oil that right there on the spot he said "yup.... you're going to need a new motor." since then the rest is history. Franks retired now and well Jake, He's still the #1 service writer at Subaru. 10/10 would recommend.

Jake was very helpful when I brought in my BRZ for the valve spring recall. The car was only in a a few days and the entire repair was well explained. I would bring back my car again in a heartbeat if I had anymore issues.

The lady that helped me(angie) was awesome. Met me at my car and explained everything. She even offered me what looked to be a granola bar and also a dog biscuit(not for me but for me but for my litttle dog biff). Love taking my car here.

Jake was super honest with me and clearly knows what he is talking about. The services are amazing. They always take care of my cars (I feel they make it special) and Gady is wonderful, the attention is incredible you can always come with her and she will help you with everything about the car. I recently had my car at Gallatin Subaru to get the motor replaced. After getting the car back two weeks ago, it's been running super well and there haven't been any issues. My service advisor Jake did a great job at communicating with me throughout the process, including giving me updates about my warranty coverage and if there were any additional problems with the car. I had a great experience here. I recently bought a Subaru Crosstrek, and the staff here were so helpful in getting me started as quickly as possible. It was a good time.

Chris Williams was phenomenal! Very knowledgeable about car details. Listened carefully to what I was looking for and made suggestions based on my needs/budget. Patient and answered all questions in depth. The staff were kind and helpful. I love my new Crosstrek, I highly recommend.

After a bad experience at another Dealership, I called Gallatin Subaru and told Zoie that I needed a "nice" salesperson. She connected me with Ian Deroeck. He did not disappoint! My 2020 Subaru outback started freaking out after a long roadtrip all the lights showed up and was driving in limp mode where i could't go past a certain speed. I obviously was nervous as this my only daily driver. They were able to look at it the next morning and learnt the problem might have been more consequential than the gas cap issue that i thought it was. Dylan the service advisor was very helpful in communicating and advocating for it to be repaired with the warranty. The promptly provided me with a shuttle to my work and when the loaner car was available shuttled me back and provided a loaner car at no cost for 2+ weeks while it was being repaired. Excellent customer service and use of software to communicate updates! I have done service here before (oil change and such) although a little pricier than 3rd party there is a waiting room with free coffee and snacks and wifi and such

Cole is the best! He was easy to talk to and extremely informative. No pressure either. I felt like I couldn’t have asked for a better salesman. I hope he’s still there in 3 years when I come to upgrade my Forester! I’ll be asking for him.

Less than a week ago I started the dreaded task of purchasing a car 2300 miles away. I inquired and very shortly received a text from Cora who got me in touch with Ian. I have been in sales for 25 plus years and have dealt with sales people longer and have never worked with someone as good as Ian. 95 percent of the sale was done on text, he heard what I needed and my concerns and then made the process an enjoyable couple of days. When I first arrived at Gallatin Subaru in Bozeman I was promptly and heartily greeted by sales associate Ian DeRoeck, who was very accomodating with showing me their inventory of Foresters and Outbacks which had the features I wanted, and within the price range I desired. I was given the option of looking at discounted end-of-year models, new incoming models, and low mileage used models. It was nice to have options, and very good ones at that. Mr. DeRoeck gave me a very thorough rundown on each car and it was a pleasure to have been able to do an extensive test drive.of the models I was most interested in. In the end, I went with the Forester. If you are in the market for a Subaru, I highly recommend Gallatin Subaru in Bozeman, and while you are there ask for Ian DeRoeck whom I found to be a very friendly, knowledgeable and professional individual. I also found the rest of the staff at Gallatin Subaru whom I had encountered along the way were very friendly and eager to help.

We took our Forester in after being broken down on the side of the highway without having an appointment. From the moment we arrived we were treated well and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. They worked us into the schedule and was able to fix our car that same day. A day later we were back (having to have the car towed) and they got us right back in and fixed a totally separate issue. Kensington helped us the entire time and she was amazing. I can't say enough good things about Gallatin Subaru.

We told Jonathon what our needs were and what we were willing to pay. 4 hours later, we drove back to Billings in our new 2024 Subaru Outback Onyx. Jonathon and the entire staff at Gallatin Subaru made the buying process far better than we've ever experienced.
