Capability
Like most
Subaru models, the 2019 Subaru Outback comes standard with Symmetrical
All-Wheel Drive to help maintain the best traction when driving through snow,
ice, or gravel, but the 2019 Santa Fe only offers All-Wheel Drive as an option.
This helps explain why the Santa Fe has a lower starting price; when you equip
the Santa Fe with All-Wheel Drive, the starting price becomes higher than that
of the Subaru Outback.
Standard
All-Wheel Drive helps the Outback be ready for any adventure, and with 8.7
inches of ground clearance, it can go over just about any obstacle that stands
in its way. The Santa Fe doesn't have that much ground clearance, meaning it
might scrape or pull off essential components from underneath if you try to go
over some of the same obstacles that the Outback can.

A Look at
the Inside
You
probably want a lot of space if you are looking at an SUV, and the 2019 Outback
offers more max cargo space than the Santa Fe does. Being able to fold the
seats down and fit more gear into the Outback gives many advantages that
drivers will love.
Both
interiors are well equipped, offering features like Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto on every trim, but that doesn't mean every feature is equal. For instance,
both models offer heated front seats pretty early in the upgrades, but the
Santa Fe doesn't offer heated rear seats until some of the most expensive
options.
