Standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive provides excellent handling dynamics and off the road, while X-MODE® and Hill Descent Control contribute extra grip and stability on rugged terrain. A four-wheel independent raised suspension ensures a smooth, car-like ride. Meanwhile, the Outback's two available engines both deliver strong performance - the standard 182-horsepower 2.5-liter mill can tow up to 2,700 pounds and the available 260-horsepower 2.4-liter turbo can pull a 3,500-pound max.

Versatile Cabin

The interior of the 2022 Outback keeps you and your fellow adventurers as comfortable as possible while still providing maximum versatility. There's room for up to five passengers, including nearly 40 inches of rear legroom. Seat upholstery options include cloth and leather. On Premium and higher trims, standard amenities include a power-adjustable driver's seat, heated front chairs, dual-zone automatic climate control, and second-row USB charging ports. Need to load your Outback with extra cargo? The rear seats fold down to give you 75.7 cubic feet of space, and an available hands-free power rear gate offers an extra degree of convenience. Standard tie-down hooks, underfloor storage, and a removable cargo tray help you corral whatever you're bringing along.

From crash prevention to keeping you focused on the road, the 2022 Outback is committed to safety. EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology comes standard and includes Pre-Collision Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, Lane Keep Assist, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering. You'll also get a rear-vision camera and High Beam Assist. For extra protection, higher trims add the DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System, Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and a 180-Degree Front-View Monitor.
